Biography
Philip Mckay
My journey into street photography began in 2006 when I came across the work of two street photographers Henri Cartier-Bresson and Vivian Maier.
I found their photography so interesting taking photos of everyday life of people on the streets. The love of their work inspired me to see what I could capture through street photography.
Since then, I have been going out across the streets of Liverpool aiming to capture the same beauty that Vivian and Henri capture in their work. Walking the streets of Liverpool has given me a new perspective on the city I already love finding beauty in every corner.
For my work I rely on carefully chosen cameras that I use for street photography. The cameras I use are: The Leica Q3, Sony RX100 VII , Sony a7c and the Ricoh GR III. Each of these cameras serve a purpose, but it is the Leica Q3 that I use most of the time for its full frame and exceptional quality.
